Sauvage Eau Forte Parfum
Description
Sauvage Eau Forte is Dior's bold reinvention of its most famous men's line, and it does something genuinely different. This is an alcohol-free, water-based parfum from master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, and the whole idea is to take that signature Sauvage freshness and stretch it out as far as it'll go. The result smells crisp and clean but also dense and intense at the same time.
It opens cool and spicy rather than citrusy. Instead of the lemon-and-bergamot blast you get from the classic Sauvage, this one leans on cold spices like pepper, cardamom and star anise, which give it a sharp, almost icy kick right out of the bottle. From there it settles into a smooth, slightly soapy lavender heart that keeps things bright and a little floral without ever turning sweet. Underneath it all sits a base of soft musk and clean woods that hold everything together and give it that grounded, masculine finish.
It's a fresh, confident, easygoing scent that works for pretty much any occasion. Great for daytime, the office, warmer weather or just an everyday signature, though it's versatile enough to carry into the evening too. Because it's such a concentrated formula, a couple of sprays go a long way, and it sits close to the skin with solid, long-lasting wear rather than a loud projection. A clean, modern, very wearable take on a classic.
